Isn’t this a straightforward vector addition problem? Break down the walk into longitude and latitude components, add them to the old GPS readings, and you get the new GPS reading. Does your class take the Earth’s curvature into account, that this is more of a problem for you? At this level of accuracy, I don’t think the difference is going to be a problem.
